    Hi, I'm still confused how to collect database which I mean statistical data , plus my research question is "How does the change in temperature (70°C, 75 °C, 80 °C, 85 °C, 90 °C) affect the rate of the decomposition of ammonium carbonate? " For example, does the quantitative data has to be copy paste from a resource or what?

    Hi, I did my IA on the effect of pH on plant growth, but I'm unsure how to formulate my hypothesis and which stats test to use. How would you formulate a hypothesis for a pH experiment?

    • @drott1722
      @drott1722 Год назад

      Edna, not knowing completely your question and experimental design, my general recommendation would be to ensure you have a wide range (at least five) pH values tested and a minimum of five trials for each. This would enable you to create an XY scatter graph and correlation test for your analysis. Good luck.

    Hi, I was wondering that app/program I should use to make my graph. Would excel suffice or do I have to pay for other programs like Logger Pro? Thanks.

    • @drott1722
      @drott1722 Год назад

      I would recommend using Excel or Google Sheets. Logger pro is to be used with Vernier probes and really is just used to collect data, not analyze the data. If you have access to a probe, I highly recommend using them for your IA data collection: digital data collection is always best.

    Great teaching and sharing. Can we plot individual data plus SD, rather than mean value plus SD?

    • @drott1722
      @drott1722 Год назад

      Yes, you could. However, a single trial and individual values are not well statistically supported and thus, at least for IB, you should conduct at least five trials and use the average of those.

    Hi. What concentration of catalase should i use for this experiment if i have pure aqueous catalase?

    • @drott1722
      @drott1722 Год назад

      Sorry, I can't give a straight answer on this. In using blended chicken liver, I don't know the exact amount of catalase in the solution. I always test the solution with various pH levels before class to ensure the concentration is appropriate. Assuming you are also using Vernier gas pressure sensors, I would recommend doing the same. Good luck

      That doesn’t matter. By the time the milk reaches your small intestine, the lactase that you’re body produces will be perfectly capable to break down the lactose.
